Overview of Nanjing Cong Long Factory:
Cong Long garment factory, a bustling medium-scale garment manufacturer, specializes in production of apparel crafting, from activewear and outerwear to skiwear and high-function clothing. Spanning 3,400 square meters, the factory’s four main buildings include the company office, production building, employee dormitory, and an auxiliary production building for external cooperation. The factory ensures high-quality production standards using essential machinery such as a Fabric Inspection Machine YB-20T, a Standard Light Source Box P60(6), and an Electronic Balance HLD-6002.
With a dedicated workforce of 300 employees working eight hours a day, six days a week, Cong Long Factory manages an impressive monthly production capacity ranging from 105,000 to 150,000 pieces, culminating in an annual output of approximately 1.4 million pieces. This high level of productivity demands significant energy and resource consumption, with electricity usage fluctuating from 37,931 to 127,360 kWh per month and water usage varying from 312 to 783 liters monthly. Waste generation also peaks during busy periods, ranging from 58,125 to 126,800 kilograms per month.
Understanding sustainability is crucial as we explore strategies for reducing factory emissions and enhancing efficiency. Cong Long Factory is adopting practices that minimize environmental impact, enhance economic efficiency, and promote fair labor practices. Embracing this holistic approach increases Cong Long Factory's marketability and guarantees its long-term sustainability and success.
Current Global Risks Affecting Cong Long Factory
Climate change is one of the most critical problems facing our planet today, with consequences felt across the world. For Cong Long Factory, the increasing frequency and severity of natural disasters such as floods, droughts, and storms pose serious challenges.
Imagine a major storm wreaking havoc on the supply chain, delaying raw material shipments, and shutting down production. This would not only result in missed delivery deadlines but also damage customer relationships, leading to financial losses. Severe weather can also flood production floors, damage machinery, and require costly repairs and downtime.
Beyond the immediate damage, longer-term concerns include the availability and quality of natural fibers like cotton. Climate change can shorten growing seasons and reduce crop yields, making it increasingly difficult and expensive to source high-quality materials.
To address these challenges, Cong Long Factory must invest in resilient infrastructure—reinforcing buildings, improving drainage systems, and protecting machinery from environmental damage. Diversifying the supply chain and partnering with sustainable, climate-resilient suppliers can further mitigate these risks.
